Brief History & Background
Born out of Need: PAIDMA is an offshoot of LINK-UP, a parent organization dedicated to social inclusion initiatives since 2000. The inspiration for PAIDMA came from attending a graduation ceremony for a LINK-UP program participant who had successfully completed an apprenticeship. Witnessing this individual’s desire for further education sparked a critical realization: there was a lack of educational opportunities specifically designed for those transitioning from apprenticeships to higher skill levels.
Filling this Gap in educational pathways became the driving force behind PAIDMA’s creation. Leveraging LINK-UP’s experience in developing grassroots-level programs for social inclusion, PAIDMA aims to be a catalyst, fostering growth and development for individuals seeking to advance their skillsets.
Building on a Strong Foundation of LINK-UP with established programs provide a robust foundation upon which PAIDMA is build. These programs include:
- Education and protection of children in need: www.linkupchildren.org
- Financial inclusion through the Grassroots Digital Finance Hubs: “GDiFH”, www.gdfinancehubs.org & the LINK-UP Community Cooperative Credit Union “LUCCCU”
- Promotion of small-scale farming through the Renaissance Agro-Industrial Development (RAID): www.raidagribiz.com
- Recognition of outstanding humanitarian initiatives through the Common Good Award: www.commongoodaward.org
PAIDMA’s Impact goes beyond its core mission to equip apprentices with the necessary skills to become accredited technicians and engineers. This, combined with training in the established programs offered by LINK-UP, facilitates access to financial inclusion and create a unique ecosystem for grassroots development in addition to fostering the development of innovative training programs designed to benefit Cameroon, Africa and the world.
